07/24/08 Strategic Planning Retreat
The MOBIUS Consortium held a Strategic Planning Retreat on July 25, 2008. During this retreat many topics were discussed including actively offering membership to other Missouri libraries for access to the MOBIUS Union Catalog and other services. The MOBIUS Task Force on Strategic Planning is in the process of reviewing the information gleaned from the retreat. A final plan will be presented to the MOBIUS Council in the fall. Look for information from this plan to be widely distributed to the Missouri Library community and other interested parties.

Leadership in Library Acquisitions Award presented to Karen Darling -- 06/11/08
Darling has a strong record of dedicated service to all of the institutions in which she has worked and the associations with which she has been active. She brings a global perspective to her work in Missouri through her international affiliations (and through the fact that she earned her advanced degree in London). Darling has demonstrated leadership in developing electronic collections at Missouri and has, in the words of one of her nominators, "helped faculty see librarians as moving the campus forward in electronic access, leading change rather than defending the status quo."

Rockhurst Announces New Director--08/27/07
The below was taken from a campus announcement, with permission.
"To the Campus Community:
It is my pleasure to announce that Ms. Laurie Hathman, M.L.S. will assume the position of Director of the Greenlease Library effective July 1, 2007. Laurie currently serves as Head of Public Services for the Greenlease Library. She also plays a key role in the development of technology and web based services in the library.
While we are certainly sad to see Jeanne Langdon stepping down from the Library Director position (but happy for her retirement adventure!), I am confident the Laurie will provide the leadership necessary for our strategic future as it relates to library and information services. Please join me in extending congratulations to Laurie.
I also want to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Joann Spillman and the rest of the search committee for their efforts and recommendations regarding the search for a new director.

The MOBIUS Executive Committee has directed the MOBIUS Consortium Office to postpone the implementation of the III Agency product until Spring/Summer 2008. MCO has directed Innovative to delay the implementation of Agency until further notice.
